I just wanted to say THANK YOU to Mariah for coming to our house. During a 1 hour dog training lesson I learned more than I ever did while I was attending a 7 week Puppy Training Class. It was affordable, well planned out and I didn't have to waste time traveling back and forth to classes or worry about missing a session. She was VERY knowledgeable, very hands on and within minutes my 7 month old Dobie was obeying commands! She got the whole family involved; my 8 year old was able to understand the do's and dont's of training our dog. I would recommend her services to anyone who has puppy training issues. Thank you again from the Brown Family. Puppy training program
My wife and I had just picked up our Sadie (Shar Pei) puppy at 7 weeks of age. That Saturday, Mariah visited our home and turned a dominant, hard headed type puppy in to a very obedient puppy. With a little homework left to do each day, our now 10 week old puppy is even listening off the leash. I can only imagine how well she will listen when she gets older. Mariah’s knowledge of animal behavior shines through in the living proof that is a puppy who most would not expect to listen at such a young age. Expect nothing less from Mariah’s passion and devotion to her job. Puppy training program
Mariah took care of our new puppy for "boot camp" training soon after we got him and we are so glad we decided to do this! Otis learned so much more than what we could have hoped for in a puppy. He's exceptionally trained in basic obedience and he learned all the rules of our household. He even learned to leave food alone if left unsupervised on the coffee table. All the neighbors that we've run into on our walks are amazed at how quickly he responds to commands and how well he listens. I cannot say enough about how wonderfully nice Mariah is and how committed she is to assisting us even after boot camp is now completed. We feel like we've made the best decision for providing our new puppy with the right training and foundation towards our new life together and that we've made a friend for life both for us and Otis. Chip and Teddy were absolutely going crazy when people rang the doorbell. If anyone in the house was on the phone, it was deafening and embarrassing. Also, Teddy would bite my husband if he tried to give me a hug. It was not pleasant. Now Teddy no longer bites- he doesn’t even give my husband a mean look! Using Mariah's techniques they improved drastically. Now we are proud of our dog’s behavior when guests come over and we can talk on the phone without the deafening barking. Janet I. Marley, my two year old, 56-pound English bulldog, tends to pull, dragging me along with him. I tried several collars, but nothing worked. It seemed like he was taking me for a walk instead. So, I called Mariah to finally get some help, and she made me realize that it wasn’t just about the right type of collar but also my way of interacting with Marley. In order for me to get a well-behaved dog, I needed to become a better leader. She showed me how to properly use the collar, and helped me think in terms of what a wolf-pack leader would do, and apply those same concepts when training Marley. I always knew bulldogs were stubborn; so I was surprised at how quickly Marley responded to the training. I can honestly say that I got immediate results. I am now a better leader, and Marley can see that. He no longer pulls, and I’m able to take him anywhere. I recently took him to the Paws in the Park, and despite all the other dogs to distract him, he did not pull at all. It’s amazing how well he behaved. I’m so happy I contacted Mariah, and I’m looking forward to working with her again for off leash training. Basic obedience program
Mariah, Thank you so much for your patient spirit with us and our dogs. As you know, we are retired couple, but Carl really wanted a Siberian husky puppy, so I bought him one for his birthday. After 6 months of chaos, we realized that we needed help. Through my son's friends, we heard about Mariah. At the first lesson, Raisa (our puppy) learned not to jump on people and not to knock us over by rushing through doorways- she now waits until we cross the threshold and kindly follows us. She also taught Raisa and showed us how to stop Raisa from chewing on our Bichon's head and to leave him alone, even off leash. With Mariah's help, Raisa and our Bichon also stopped running out the front door, attacking the doorknobs when the doorbell rang and the incessant barking when guests arrived. Additionally, she taught both of them sit, lay down, stay (even with toys and treats flying across the room) and come. All of this she accomplished in 5 lessons. Mariah, you are a miracle worker and a natural. Thank you for giving us our sanity back. Basic obedience program
Again, THANK YOU for everything! It is amazing to see such a huge transformation in Lucy in just 5 weeks! I never thought a pug would take treats only by command... I am now able to place the treats directly in front of her on the ground and by saying "leave it" she will wait calmly in the lay down position until I give her the command to "take it" - very impressive! This is only one example of the many obedience lessons that she has picked up on since your class and it has been so exciting to watch her grow and learn! Steve L. Basic obedience program
Mariah has been great with my standard poodle puppy. And with my husband and I too! Her methods have made the most sense so far and have been the most effective. The private lessons are great and it feels like I am getting the dedicated attention that my pet deserves. I highly recommend Mariah!!! Cheryl M. Puppy Training

Prince is a 4 1/2 year old Cairn terrier. His behavior was unpredictable when meeting other dogs, joggers or cyclists. There were certain dogs in the neighborhood that he would growl, snarl and turn somersaults in an attempt to get at. Under Mariah's guidance I learned how to modify my behavior and how to anticipate his behavior and correct him using the proper techniques. I was amazed at how his behavior has improved. He listens and follows commands now. Our walks are more enjoyable and relaxed. His behavior is not perfect but not nearly aggressive and as I am more confident we get the situation under control before it gets out of hand. It is an ongoing process and daily I have to remind him who is in charge, it also took homework time and practice, but it has been worth it to have a calmer and more obedient dog. Thank you, Mariah. I am so thankful for Mariah and her teaching methods! I rescued Brody, a timid 1 year old Boxer dog last year, and he lacked any semblance of confidence and did not know any commands. I found several "traditional" obedience group classes, picked one and signed up. At our first class, Brody had the traditional choke chain around his neck and we were heeling around in a circle with 30 other dogs. I was constantly being told to "correct" him by yanking on the leash, and after the third or fourth yank Brody just laid down on the grass showing me his belly with a terrified look on his face. We never returned to that class after that, although Brody was still timid and didn't know one single command. I tried one other obedience class that used the traditional AKC methods, and Brody responded in the same fashion as the first class. Ever since learning your gentler methods and the right times to praise Brody he has come out of his shell and he is now a different dog. He loves to learn and responds so quickly now. Thanks, Mariah! Fearful dog training
I rescued a 4 year old Bichon from a rescue group under the pretense that he was a very well mannered dog. He was not. He was very aggressive toward strangers and I fear what he would do to them. I was about to return him to his foster home if he did not make any improvement but in an act of desperation, I called Mariah. She came to my home and showed me that the way I was responding intensified his aggression. She explained to me that if I get fearful, Andy's instincts tell him that he needs to take control of the situation. I now understand that as long as I remain in a leadership state of mind, Andy willingly follows me and I can easily stop his aggressive outbreaks. We are still working on it, but there has been a lot of improvement. I am so glad she is just a phone call away. Sonia Colon Aggressive dog training
I found a Rottweiler underneath the 408 a few months ago. We nursed him to health and found out that he was very territorial and dog aggressive. I hired Mariah to socialize him enough that we could find him a nice home. She worked with him and sent us pictures of him playing with other dogs off-leash. As long as you establish yourself as his leader, he can now be walked around other dogs on leash reliably and without any aggression. She went with us to his new home and showed them how to greet him. He is a happy guy now with a family to call his own. Jane Upton Aggressive dog training
Mariah has been a friend of mine and my 4 dogs for over a year, but I seriously doubted her training abilities- until I gave her the chance to prove me wrong. A few months ago, I rescued a German Shepherd and took him to the local German Shepherd Rescue coordinator. At her home, she had two dueling shepherds. They could not be in the same room without bloodshed. Mariah agreed to take a look and see what she could do'. After we arrived, Mariah quickly got the fearful aggressive female to trust and follow her leadership. Then she had the dominant aggressive female do the same and lay down in the presence of humans- a feat no other trainer had been able to accomplish. After 45 minutes of working with each dog individually, she was walking them both at the same time. Then she had them both lay down and she dared to step out of the middle between them. They did not fight and the rescue coordinator and myself were so impressed.
Mariah continued to work with them and although there was a set-back once inside the home, we were amazed at the progress. As per Mariah's advise, the coordinator placed the fearful aggressive dog in a home with the balanced male that I rescued. She now has a leader in him and her fearful aggressive side has dissipated. I am thoroughly impressed with Mariah's skill in working with dog aggressive dogs and I would recommend her to anyone facing this problem. Heidi Sondi Aggressive dog training
